It is as firm as a tree
It is as honest as most don’t come
Nothing can live without it
And it is just in all it is
It cannot be wrong
Not even in a song
It is what made the world as it is
And with it there may be no end
It is as firm as a tree
It is as honest as most don’t come
Nothing can live without it
And it is just in all it is
It cannot be wrong
Not even in a song
It is what made the world as it is
And with it there may be no end
I like to draw them
Then put the paint in
I do it ever so often
And I’ll do it again
It is fun to do
When I got the time
Going from line to line
I know that it needs to look good
And I hope that’s understood
So much to do
So little time
To express myself
To free my mind
And after all is said and done
It is good to look back
Years from now
At what occurred
With every turn
Animals
Composed By
James Henry Shelton
There are bluejays that fly
And deer that run
Sheep that call for others to come
Dolphins that swim
Dogs that bark
And cats that meow
From where they start
And eagles that soar
On easy wind
They are nice to see
Again and again
Rabbits that move
Through the woods they see
And owls that go
To the top of trees
And bears that go
From place to place
And in between
So they can eat
And explore where they meet
Forests
Composed By
James Henry Shelton
They are big and green
Full of trees
They can be miles in size
Or a mile wide
They can have flowers and plants
That are growing or grown
On their own
From days to months in time
All is fine
Even today
It is nice to look anyway
They flow through the land
And sometimes
they hit the sand
And they are
such a sight to see
Even in the evening time
All is fine
They are sometimes smooth
They are sometimes rough
But it’s always a nice time
As they flow over the ledge
To the sediment below
Where the river
continues to flow
Oh how it goes
They are large bodies
of salt water
That are surrounded by land
And their coasts can have sand
There are seven of them
Throughout the world
They flow through and through
They can be rough
And they can be calm
They are ways to travel on
Year after year
And it’s clear
What may be
Is sunshine or rain
Warm weather
A nice place
that I may see sometime
What may be
Is a post card in the mail
Nice photos to shoot as well
What may be
Is a nice meal
A phone call from a friend
And some
clear blue skies again
What may be
Is we may go out again
And feel the wind
Wherever We May Go
Composed By
James Henry Shelton
Today is a moment
Which may pass like the stream
A still calm flow of water
Observed under
the hot suns heat
Angels watch over the many
That come and go through
The places of the world
Yet time is on your side
Wherever you may go
For God made us all
Like the grass that grows
And he observes us all
Wherever we may go
About the poem:
I completed this poem in 2011
so it is a older poem.
God
Composed By
James Henry Shelton
He is the Creator
Of all things
Even small
He made it all
And even at night
When one prays
He is listening away
He is the Helper
When we need him to
Even before we have a clue
He is there
Even when we don’t ask a thing
It is written
That he gives a song to sing
The Sky
Composed By
James Henry Shelton
It is up there
To be seen
Sometimes it rains or shines
It can be red
It can be purple
It can be blue
And it can be grey
The weather will not delay
Still it is nice to view
And the birds fly up there too
